Ask Dr. Gourmet

Why don't you use quinoa?

I have never seen quinoa mentioned in what I have read in your articles. It is a healthy way to get protein into the diet. It is easy to prepare and my family cooks it with a broth to add flavor.

When I want to drop a few pounds, I construct a salad with quinoa in the bottom of the bowl, add the dressing, and toss with whatever vegetables I want in my salad. Quinoa leaves me satisfied with the meal and I don't have hunger issues later in the evening.

I really appreciate your question. You're right. I love quinoa and it's great for you. It has a ton of fiber and a great nutty flavor.

Here are a few of the recipes I've created that use quinoa. I hope you enjoy them!
